We have looked at a lot of Bali photos lately! Why? Because we decided to go there for honeymoon!
I am so excited and have been walking around with this very big ear to ear grin for days now.
And then I realized we never got around to share all the photos that Dave took of our last trip to this beautiful island.
These photos were all taken on my business trip to Ubud, Bali in November, when Dave joined me and we stayed on for a few days together. I was working on a beautiful Bali wedding as makeup artist over there and did not get to explore enough. On the up side, I love my job and it is always special opportunity to work on destination weddings.
This visit to Bali was too short, but enough to get a taste and to know that we wanted to come back.
It is a very special place. I loved the tropical extremely hot & humid climate, I was impressed by all the beautiful traditional arts. The flowers, the incense and the cheeky monkeys. Everyone we met was very welcoming and we found so much fabulous fresh vegetarian food.
Dave even braved a lot of the street food and he did not get sick. I thought I mention this, since so many people tell stories of "Bali Belly" after having had bad food.
I wish we could have brought home many of the amazing wood works and furniture but it seemed a mission to get it imported to Australia. We will be back for more.
Our honeymoon is booked, only five months to our wedding day. Seriously how did time fly by that fast? Before we know it it will be February. We can't wait!

My work as destination wedding makeup artist took me recently to Bali, I packed Dave into my suitcase and we stayed a for a few days after the wedding.
We were in luck when wedding photographer extraordinaire Jo Bartholomew who also flew in from Sydney was up to take some shots of us!
I love her work. So this is the story of how we somehow ended up having an engagement shoot,
that we never planned to do. I am glad we did.
Not only did we have a blast on this shoot, we also became friends with Jo and her lovely hubby Martin. We might have booked them to be our wedding photographers too...

Bali was nothing short of spectacular and I will share our personal travel photos on here real soon!
P.S: We missed little Dalston terribly on this trip!

When we get a day off together and don't have plans, and especially on a sunny day, we love walking over to Paddington and have coffee and breakfast at our favourite little spot:
Tuk Tuk Street Bar! The people working there are just the friendliest and they really like dogs too.
Not to mention the fresh, healthy food, the yummy coffee and the great spot to sit and watch people go by.
Here are some snaps from last time. We thought it really deserves an own blog post.
It's the very small things that make my day, like a good coffee and sunshine and taking some time out of a busy week just to enjoy both. And to make it perfect it will have to be in good company.
David & Dalston you rock my world!
Do you have a favourite cafe to hang out?

What else is new? Dalston comes with David to work in the design office from time to time, he graduated from puppy school this week and at home we made it super cozy with a new desk and couch... and new bed for Dalston too.
We can't wait to show you our new living room as soon as we are finished. It only took us one year and 4 weeks... Well. One step at a time, I guess.

Besides the all the the pretty and beachy Eastern Suburbs and the cool urban Inner West, there is another very inspiring yet much rougher and very unexpected area in Sydney: The West.
Most areas here are very suburban and while the area has plenty or affordable housing it certainly hasn't the best reputation.
We found many interesting multicultural things to discover spending a Sunday wandering around Cabramatta. The mainly Vietnamese neighborhood, full of fresh exotic fruit, vegetables, fabrics and pound stores. I mean: 87% off!?! This is the uniquest offer I have seen in my life!
By day it was very vibrant and buzzing. It felt like we are actually in Asia.
I had an Avocado shake and we stocked up on groceries for plenty of stir-fries.
Oh food is too delicious over here, we got to watch ourselves before we know it we will double our size ; )
We also got to meet our little nephew Marcus, who is the cutest thing.
I am looking forward to seeing him growing up and playing with him.

Sydney is exciting. I am feeling so lucky and happy about our new little life we started to set up over here. I could write endless happy-lists.
