Caravan Brunch & the Olympics
22:36There is something about a Sunday in London, especially if its a sunny Sunday.
This one started with pouring rain, but we got lucky to catch one of the brand new London buses from hour doorstep to the breakfast place.
We absolutely loved the design and feel of them, though I know they are not every ones cup of tea.
After getting soaked on the way we couldn't wait for the food at the highly recommended and cozy coffee roastery and restaurant Caravan. Our flatmate Calvin and also Adrian and Alex were joining us, it's always so much fun to hang out with these guys.
We had to wait 45 min for a table, but the team at Caravan was kind enough to offer us a seat at the bar, so that we could start warming up with one of the best coffees we have ever had in London.
The food was well worth the wait! Good start of the day.
By the time we finished brunch the sun came out and we all went for a long walk over to Brick Lane, buying myself a new pair of recently lost sunglasses.
We spent the afternoon hanging out in Haggerston Park, where they are showing the Olympic events on a big screen. We weren't organized enough to actually get tickets a year in advance to see anything live but then, hey, we are not that much into sports anyway. But we had fun cheering with all the excited people and watching the opening ceremony the other night.
We finished the day with cheap and cheerful Pizza at the Stingray Globe Cafe.
I wish I had every Sunday off! Thanks everyone for joining in and making it such a fun day.
I just realized how much I love everything about blogging, taking photographs, editing them, I love the writing and text editing just as much as sharing everything with others & reading YOUR blogs!
We are so happy to have you here. What do you like most about blogging?

looks like a wonderful day! that must be a pretty great restaurant/cafe to warrant a 45 minute wait, but if you're with friends it's not so bad, and i'm sure it was worth it if they have great food. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures, I really want to hang out in haggerston park now, it must be so cool to watch the olympics there.. I'm not really into it because its really not the same watching it in your living room! x
ReplyDeleteLoving the new blog look! Makes me rethink my little space. I have always loved this mustard color. Looks like a fun day and you two look lovely. Guy in polkadots and plaid - amazing.xx
ReplyDeleteYeah I love yellow and mustard right now. We had it in our old template as well, just less prominent, only links were that colour. I am still tweaking on this little upgrade, it's not quite done yet ; )
DeleteHi! Thanks for your sweet comment!
ReplyDeleteWell, this looks like a perfect 'London day'. Love the pics!
The best thing about blogging is getting so much inspiration from other bloggers. I had to make a notebook to write it all down, because I don't want to forget any of the great ideas I come across. And I love taking a peek into someone else's life :)
Looks like a lovely way to spend a Sunday. I adore how you display your pictures and the second photo is awesome!

Thanks for you lovely comment! I do try to write in a proesy manner (prose x poetry) because I like the stream-of-conscious writing combined with poetic language.
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite parts of blogging are very similar to you. I enjoy the picture taking process (though not so much the editing process). I enjoy piecing together my pictures to create a story. I used to post all the pictures that I took in one day on my blog, but now I take different pictures from the past week, month or even year to tell a story. For me, that story is the most important part.
45 minutes!!??? I'm glad the food was worth the wait. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge sports fan either, but I've been pretty excited for the Olympics. It is just amazing for me to see these great athletes from around the world competing.
As for blogging, my favorite thing is the people. I've met so many people in different places around the world who I otherwise would have not have connected with. It's like I get to participate in a little slice of their life while also sharing a little slice of mine. All together, that's one big piece of cake.... ;)
These photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful day with friends! Love having you around too but I guess you already know that!!! Haha!!!

ReplyDeleteLiv my dear, I miss you! I miss London too after seeing this. it is funny how we have changed after first blogging a few years ago. I'm now in SE Asia and pretty comfortable here. I do love the community of blogging. I just moved blogs and am glad to have the cleaner view. Thanks for the sweet comments! I have lots of nail polish to review so I'll get to it!

So jealous, I used to live in London and now I'm stuck up in Scotland. You two are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Scotland, but imagine it to be quite beautiful. (Beside the cold weather?)
Deleteall of this food looks scrumptious! what amazing photographs! i really need to come and visit europe! this place seems so magical. love the car, too!
ReplyDeletexo TJ
Thanks! The car is actually one of the London cabs! Usually they are all black but you can see them in all sorts of colours now. They are beautiful cars, especially built as taxis.

Hi Liv, thanks for stopping by my blog - so pleased to have found yours, it's gorgeous! Fantastic photos above, that restaurant looks great, and you've really captured the London Olympic feeling there. I love your yellow dress, btw. Gillian x
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to have one of these Sundays. Best coffee ever? Yes, please. x
ReplyDeleteLOVE these photos!! This sounds perfect ... and made me hungry. My favorite part about blogging is getting to know people and sharing with one another, without ever meeting face to face... you feel like you actually “know” them or consider one another friends.

hi Liv! Thank you so much for all your nice comments!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are moving pretty far, too! Why to Sydney? It's so cool! It's even in another hemisphere! Awesome...
For carving that watermelon I used a tiny thin knife. You can google it by "Carving thai knife" but actually any thin knife would work.
Lovely dress, btw :-)

Hello Live Thank yo for stopping by my blog. And introducing me to your blog. The photographs are just poetry, they tell the story beautifully as if I was there in London sitting and drinking the most wonderful cup of coffee with you. What Camera and lense do you shoot with? I am thinking about changing from Nikon to Cannon. Following your blog. Roberta

Isn't brunch just the BEST meal of the day? You can have savory, sweet or both, coffee, juice or alcohol and it fills you up until tea time! My partner used to love going out to dinner the best, but I have pretty much swung him around to the lazy lie-in and brunch. The hardest part is finding a table big enough to spread out the Sunday paper to dissect together in a busy cafe...
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping by my blog- I'm glad to find yours and will be really interested to see how you find Australia. Actually where are you originally from? I don't think it was in your "about" section...
You are so right! We love brunch. To answer your question:
DeleteI am originally from Germany, with my Mum's side of the family being Swedish and my Dad is Dutch.
Dave is Australian, with one side being Italian the other half Maltese.
You are right we have to start a FAQ page to answer all these Questions.
Thank you for stopping by.
you guys are so well dressed!!
ReplyDeleteI looove your photos :).
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment! You are a star!
