fresh flowers, great portraits + good pizza
23:04This Sunday we had a little vacation from all the planning lately.
We went to the beautiful flower market at Columbia Road.
If you ever spent a weekend in London, this is a great place to go.
I love it every time. Besides all the fresh flowers, the road is full of little artsy boutiques and studios.
Dave grabbed some Calamari for 1.50 and spent some time smelling wonderful fragrances in Angela Flanders old and magical perfumes shop.
The afternoon, we spent in the National Portrait Gallery, where we saw the BP Portrait Award.
Which showcases the very best in contemporary portrait painting from around the world.
It was very inspiring! One of the best exhibitions I have seen in some time.
Photography is not allowed within the gallery : ( so no pics to share.
Sunday night Pizzas have somehow become a new little routine lately, and we had a fabulous one for dinner.

ReplyDeletesunday night pizza sounds like a perfect tradition x
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great spot, filled with life and colour. I spot arugula on your pizza. Have never tried that as a pizza topping but I love it as a salad. Time to try it on pizza soon! Wishing you a terrific week.

ReplyDeletelove that, besides all the planning, you're taking that extra time to enjoy the moment. to be where you are. here and now. and the BP show, I heard so many praises about it already; it seems to be a really impressive show. enjoy your rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteunwind the mind it's good for the soul.
i just adore you liv. you are a beautiful woman inside and out!
and I must know how to make a head scarf like you--tutorial?!
xo
Thank you for your lovely comment. The head scarf is easy:
Delete1.Mine was a square shape to start of with.
2.Fold it into a triangle.
3. Fold the tip to the base
4. Put your hair up in a bun (or other up-do)
5. Wrap the scarf around your head, so that the wider base starts down at your neck and tie the ends on top of your head. Tuck the end bits under.
6.Drape and shape it in place.Fix with bobby pin behind your ears if necessary.
Hope that helps. It would be easier with pictures I guess!?
Oh this is helpful, I think I can figure it out! YOu always look so glamorous in your head scarves, and I do wear them, but not that way ever and I'd like to try :)
Deletethank you liv!!!
